UPDATE: I’ve learned that a kilometre is equal to .62 miles. Conversely, one mile is 1.6 kilometres. I’m not even good at visually estimating inches…so a lot of good this information is going to do me….

Unlike many people I’ve spoken to, getting into the apartment of my famille d’accueil (host family) was actually super simple. Seven hours doesn’t sound like a very long time….right? Well, when that 7 hours is spent in a tiny seat on an airplane flying through 6 time zones, it feels like an eternity. I will say though, that Air France does a lovely job trying to keep everyone happy during this long, impossible journey.
